What Is Self-Service CDs?
Self-Service CDs lets members open, manage, and close Certificates of Deposit entirely within online banking — no branch visit, no phone call, no waiting. Everything appears directly inside the Candescent OLB dashboard.What Members Can Do
There are two main areas: Manage Certificates — for existing CD accounts:- View all current CDs with live balance, maturity date, APY, and interest rate
- Renew a certificate at the same or a different term at today’s published rate, with the option to add or withdraw funds at the same time
- Close and transfer a certificate balance to any internal or external account
- Open a Certificate of Deposit (CD)
- Open a Checking Account
- Open a Savings Account
- Open a Money Market Account
How to Access It
Members find the CD widget inside their Candescent online banking dashboard. Depending on how the institution has configured the navigation, it typically appears under Accounts, Products, or as a dedicated CD Management tile. There is nothing to install or download — the experience is fully embedded.What to Expect
Every action follows the same pattern:- Review the account details shown at the top of the screen
- Fill in your preferences (term, funding account, amount)
- Review a Transfer Authorization or confirmation modal showing the exact details before anything is submitted
- Receive a Success confirmation with your new account number, effective date, APY, and transferred amount
Manage Existing Certificates
- Manage Certificates — Renew or close an existing CD, step by step with screenshots.
Open a New Account
- Open a New CD — Open a Certificate of Deposit — choose your term, fund it, and confirm.
- Open a Checking Account — Choose from Free, Interest Bearing, or Premium Checking — fund and confirm.
- Open a Savings Account — Open a Savings Account with no minimum balance requirement.
- Open a Money Market Account — Open a Money Market Account — minimum opening balance $250.00.
